Several earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. One of the depressions corresponds with an 'Old Marl Pit' depicted on the First Edition OS map. The others are situated within an orchard recorded on the Tithe Map. The earthworks are interpreted as marl pits of post-medieval to 19th century origin, one of which ceased extraction prior to circa 1840, the other by the late 19th century.
