Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A linear cropmark and slight earthwork of an earthwork banks approximately 110 metres long and 8 metres wide was visible on aerial photographs of 1950 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, near the summit of a south-west spur, overlooking Wolverstone village circa 800 metres to the east. The earthwork corresponds with a field boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Awliscombe. The boundary was not depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map. The earthwork is therefore interpreted as a former field boundary of probable post-medieval date that was removed between circa 1840 and 1890.
