An earthwork bank of a possible medieval field boundary is visible on aerial photographs of 1950 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Hembercombe Farm. The slight curvilinear earthwork is broadly east to west aligned and is situated on gentle southeast facing slope. It has been truncated by a modern trackway. The earthwork bank does not clearly respect the field boundaries depicted here on the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48 which are based on post-medieval enclosures. The boundary, which is not depicted on this map may, therefore be of medieval date which had evidently passed out of use by this time.
