Earthwork banks of possible medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Bowerwood Farm. The earthworks comprise a northwest to southeast aligned linear bank, with two shorter northeast to southwest banks off its western edge. The northern extent of the longer bank is more nebulous in form. The earthwork banks may represent former field boundaries. Since they do not clearly respect the field boundaries depicted here on the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48, which are based on post-medieval enclosures, they may conceivable be of medieval date, passing out of use by the mid-19th century.
