Possible former field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as earthwork banks
on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Golden Cleave. The adjacent linear and curvilinear earthworks are east to west and northwest to southeast aligned, respectively, and are situated on gentle southwest facing slope. The field boundaries are not depicted on the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48 which shows an area of possible common here and so may have passed out of use by this time.
