A network of narrow linear earthwork ditches are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1948 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. They form a rough grid on the slopes south of Clifthorn with three ditches aligned cross-contour, perhaps channelling water (maybe mingled with manure) from the area of the farmstead. The more numerous ditches coming off the three main channels run very slightly downslope and they are tentatively interpreted as the field gutters of a catchmeadow system of post-medieval or 19th century date. No features are depicted in this location on the available historic mapping suggesting that it fell out of use by the late-19th century.
