Linear and curvilinear banks were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1950, to the south of Rull Farm, Payhembury parish. The banks largely correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Payhembury parish, although one is not shown. The boundaries are not shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map and were therefore probably removed between circa 1840 and 1890. The boundaries enclosed an area of linear earthwork banks, evidence of a former orchard, recorded separately. The banks are not visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and have therefore probably been levelled. The banks fall within a field system that has been characterised by HLC as Barton Fields of probable post-medieval date but curvilinear elements might support a slightly earlier date.
