The ridges were visible as slight earthworks.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Low and narrow parallel ridges were visible as parallel earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1950, on the south-west facing slopes south of Higher Curscombe Farm, Feniton parish. The visible earthwork banks were spaced circa 6 metres apart and crossed the contours of the slope.
The visible earthworks fell within a slightly larger plot depicted as an orchard on the Tithe Map for Feniton, but not on Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as the remains of tree planting banks made for fruit tree planting and improved orchard drainage dating probably from the post-medieval period to the mid-19th century, cleared between circa 1840 and 1890.
The banks remain visible as slight earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
