Possible extraction pits of post-medieval to 19th century date are visible as a series of earthwork pits and mounds on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, within Pitmore Copse. The irregular shaped earthwork pits, which measure up to 34m in length and are interspersed with a series of mounds derived from possible spoil, are located on the moderate northwest slopes of a hillside and occupy an area of approximately 0.61 hectares. They are possibly post-medieval to 19th in date, although could be earlier. The nature of these earthworks is, however, slightly uncertain and it is possible they are also the result of natural slumping.
