A possible former field boundary of between medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork ditch on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southeast of Sims Copse. The linear earthwork is northwest to southeast aligned, closely respects the historic field patterns based on medieval enclosures and appears to have passed out of use by the time of the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48. A northeast to southeast aligned earthwork contiguous with this field boundary was interpreted as a possible 19th century drain.
