Possible former field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as a number of earthwork banked features on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Bowerhayes Farm. The field boundaries are northeast to southwest and east to west aligned and occupy three adjacent fields of gentle northeast and east facing slope. The Historic Landscape Characterisation project has part classified this area as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’, so may be of medieval date. The field boundaries appear to have passed out of use by the time of the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The digital parish tithe mosaic is incomplete here, so it is not possible to determine whether the field boundaries were extant by this time.
