An earthwork mound of unknown date is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, within Newcombe Errish Plantation. The fairly prominent earthwork is sub-circular in shape and measures approximately 25m in diameter, on the moderate northwest facing slopes of a combe. Given the density of post-medieval to 19th century extractive works within the vicinity, it is possible this earthwork represents the spoil from such workings, or perhaps is the accumulation of soil from slumping. The earthwork was not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images owing to tree cover here.
