A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Bramble Copse. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 35m in length by 24m in width and is located on the moderate northwest facing slopes of a combe. The earthworks should, however, be viewed with some degree of caution as it is also possible they are also the result of natural slumping.
