A series of possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible as earthwork pits on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, within Yonder Horse Park Copse. The irregular and sub-oval shaped earthworks measure between 18m to 72m in length, are located either side of a stream that flows through the copse, and are located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey. Some degree of caution should, however, be exercised regarding the nature of these particular earthworks, as it is also possible they are, in part, the result of natural erosion from fluvial action. The earthworks are not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey owing to the tree cover here.
