Bluesky International, 2016, LiDAR DTM data (0.5m resolution) Blackdown Hills and East Devon AONBs: 3 transects, LIDAR ST2110 Bluesky International DTM 04-MAY-2016 (Cartographic). SDV359714.
The possible extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

A possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Middle Luxton, Upottery. The sub-circular shaped earthwork measures approximately 13m in length by 11m in width and is situated at the intersection of two former field boundaries. The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping. This supports the interpretation that the extractive pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
