A number of possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1971 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Sweetlands Farm. The cluster of five earthworks are oval to irregular in shape, measure between 26m to 50m in length and are situated on southeast facing slope. An adjacent earthwork, not transcribed during this survey, corresponds to a marl pit (MDV73331) depicted here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map, suggesting that these earthworks were similarly utilised for such.
