Summary

A number of possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Ulcombe Farm. The earthworks are located amongst a sand pit and marl pit (MDV73330) depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey, suggesting the earthworks were likely utilised for such.

A number of possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Ulcombe Farm. The four earthworks are sub-circular, oval and irregular in shape, measure between 16m to 72m in length and are situated on southeast facing slope. The earthworks are located amongst a sand pit and marl pit (MDV73330) depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey, suggesting the earthworks were likely utilised for such.
