Parallel linear earthwork banks, approximately 3 metres in width, are indistinctly visible on aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of post-medieval or 19th century tree planting banks, but no orchard is depicted in this location on the available historic maps. They are interpreted as orchard banks that fell out of use by the mid-19th century, and seem to have subsequently been cut though by one or more trackways, one of which is depicted on historic mapping as part of the designed parkland.
