The visible earthworks correspond in part with depicted field boundaries.

Linear banks up to 15 metres wide were visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016 as low earthworks to the west of Sheafhayne manor, Yarcombe parish.
The earthworks corresponded in part with a field boundary depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey, but had conversely been partly cleared by the later-1800s. Although falling largely within a field pattern that has been characterised as being medieval in origin, the relict banks were very regular in form and were probably a post-medieval or earlier-19th century sub-division of an earlier enclosure.
