OLDHAM, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV170.

A licence for a private chapel was granted to the crocker family in 1383 (oldham).


RISDON + LYSONS, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV214437.

Crocker's hele and remains of mansion. Crocker family had estate and dwelt here in time of edward ii. Their residence being called hele. They later moved to lyneham (risdon + lysons).

Vis=crocker's hele along with friar's hele and giffords hele were hela in domesday and hele in 1242. Crocker's hele was held by richard de sechevil in 1242. It was called hele sechevill in 1303. The modern farm traces its name to the family of william crocker (mawer et al).
