Full description
Everett, C., 1978, Archaeological Survey of Some Woodlands Within the Dartmoor National Park, 13, Map 13, OP24 (Report - Survey). SDV360464.
One of 24 pillow mounds identified within Olderwood Plantation. This is one of a group of smaller, oval shaped mounds in the south and south-eastern section of the wood. These are thought to be earlier in date than the better-defined, oblong mounds in the northern sector of the plantation. Quite likely to be more, so far, unidentified examples.
OP24 SX 5313 6653. Oval mound. Measures 7.8 metres by 5.8 metres by 0.3 metres high. The mound is very low. No surrounding ditch could be discerned. Planted over. Orientation north-?east (shown as north-west by south-east on plan) by south-east.
