Summary

Earthwork ditches interpreted as post-medieval to 19th century drainage ditches and earthworks of narrow ridge and furrow representing 19th-20th century agricultural improvement are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947, to the southwest of Way Barton Farm.

Transcriptions of linear ditches correspond to the grid reference for PRN167174.

A fragmentary network of ditches are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1) and were digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. To the immediate south traces of cultivation marks similar to straight, narrow ridge and furrow are visible as low ridges. The features lie within an area classed as rough ground in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon and are likely to represent post medieval land improvement.
