Summary

A cropmark pit of largely uncertain date, but possibly associated with the Roman Military complex at The Barton, North Tawton, is viisble on aerial photographs taken in 1975.

A pit or hollow of uncertain origin is visible on aerial photos (p1). It has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. The feature has a diameter of roughly 7m. It is sited only 1.5m from a mound (prn 167045) visible on the same aerial photos.
