Summary

A cropmark ditch interpreted as either a medieval field boundary or an associated feature of the North Tawton Roman military complex is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1984, southwest of de Bathe Farm.

Transcriptions of a ditch correspond to the grid reference for PRN167019.

A length of ditch running N-S for 225m is visible on aerial photos (p1). It appears to but up against another section of ditch, recorded as part of a Roman camp (cin 29193), that runs E-W. It is unclear from the photographs available whether the two features are contemporary. It is possible that the N-S length of ditch is part of a later field system. It has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.
