Two linear and parallel earthwork banks interpreted as former medieval or post-medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948, to the east of Southcott Wood, Chawleigh. The field boundaries are possibly associated with medieval deserted village MDV1011, located to the immediate west.
