Linear and curvilinear cropmarks which have possibly formed over levelled ditches, circa 1.5m wide, are visible on oblique aerial photographs taken in 1996 and on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2018. The fragmented dark cropmarks possibly define the southern and western sides of a double-ditched enclosure which measures at least 80m long by 50m wide and situated on gentle northeast facing slope. Other cropmarks visible in this area are interpreted as being of likely geological or modern agricultural origin and have not been transcribed during this survey. The cropmark enclsoure bears similarity to a Roman fort, although may also be of prehistoric origin. Further field investigation, such as geophysical survey, is recommended.
