Curvilinear ditches and banks were visible as earthworks to the south of Helwell Barton, Kenton, on aerial photographs of 1984 and digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2016.
The visible cropmarks correspond in part with roads and field boundaries of possible medieval and post-medieval origin depicted on the Tithe Map for Kenton. Extant buildings, possibly a small farmstead or outbuildings associated with Helwell Barton, fall within a yard reached by, and part of, the road earthworks.
The curvilinear field pattern and associated roads or tracks are not depicted on the Ordnance Survey Second Edition 25-inch map of circa1904, having been superseded by more regular boundaries probably in the late 19th century.
