An oval shaped earthwork mound, circa 30m in length by 25m in width, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on the crest of Wrigwell Hill, Ipplepen. The origin of the earthwork is largely unclear, although its form and hilltop location offer some support to the interpretation that it represents a prehistoric barrow. It is also possible the earthworks are of natural origin.
