A series of linear earthwork banks, between 4-8m in width, is visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on south facing slope to the southwest of Home Park, Denbury and Torbryan. The earthworks occupy an area of approximately 8 hectares, are north to south and east to west aligned and define several rectilinear shaped enclosures, from between 35 to 160m in length. Most of the visible earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, although are broadly in keeping with the character of the historic field patterns which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. Their form, character and topographic setting, however, offers some support to the interpretation that they represent relict field boundaries of a possible prehistoric or Romano-British field system, particularly given the proximity of other field systems recorded to the west. Elements of these earthworks, however, are more medieval or post-medieval in character, including those shown as field boundaries on historic maps, and so this record has been double-indexed to reflect this uncertainty.
