Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Closely spaced banks approximately 3m wide, on a north-west to south-east alignment, are visible as earthworks under scrub vegetation on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1947 extending over more than 2 hectares of ridgetop to the south of New Bramble Farm, Ashton. One of the plots is listed as waste on the Tithe Map for Ashton, and both are depicted as rough pasture on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map.
It is probable that the visible earthwork banks are evidence of agricultural improvement of later 19th or early 20th century date, and that they extended over a greater area than is visible on the available aerial photographs. The banks cannot be seen as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, and have probable been levelled.
