Linear banks, between 5-10m in width, are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, on gentle south facing slope at Fairfield Farm, Denbury and Torbryan. The slight and linear earthworks are east to west and north to south aligned and partly define several rectilinear shaped enclosures which measure between 30-60m in length. The earthworks pre-date a field boundary shown in this location on the Parish Tithe Map of the mid-19th century, with the surrounding field patterns characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps, which supports the interpretation that they had passed out of use by this time. They are tentatively interpreted as relict field boundaries of a prehistoric or Romano-British field system given their proximity to, and similarity with, several such field systems recorded on the limestone plateaux to the south. A medieval date is, however, possible. Several slight earthwork mounds visible amongst the earthworks have been interpreted as possible clearance cairns and have been recorded as a separate monument.
