Linear earthworks of banks and ditches, between 2-6m wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, to the west of Peartree Cross, Denbury and Torbryan. The earthworks comprise linear and sinuous ditches which possibly define part of a rectilinear enclosure, circa 110m long by 25m wide, with internal partition to the northwest. Fragments of earthwork banks, up to 30m long, are situated on the outer, southern edge of the ditches. The earthworks are of largely uncertain origin, although they do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on subsequent available historic maps, suggesting they had passed out of use by this time. They are tentatively interpreted as relict field medieval or post-medieval field boundaries of a land parcel, or parcels, perhaps associated with the range of buildings, now demolished, shown to the immediate north. The earthworks are not visible on later available aerial imagery and have likely been levelled.
