Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Linear earthwork ditches which form part of a single northwest to southeast aligned feature, circa 475m long by 3m wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1964, to the east of Mill Cross, Ilsington. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on subsequent available historic maps, although a watercourse which closely respects these earthworks is shown to the north and labelled as ‘Mill Leat’ (MDV52236) on the First Edition Ordnnace Survey map. This supports the interpretation that these earthworks may similarly form part of a watercourse, and possibly an earlier phase of the leat recorded to the north, which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The earthworks are no longer visible after 1964 and have possibly since been levelled.
