The visible earthworks do not correspond with any feature depicted on the OS 1880s First Edition map.

A platform is visible as a roughly triangular earthwork circa 24m across, on the south-facing slopes north-west of Lyneham Cross, Hennock, on aerial photographs of 1946 and images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
The function of the earthwork is unknown, but it may have been related to extractive activity. It does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey and might therefore have passed out of use prior to this date.
