An irregularly shaped pit is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as an earthwork up to 35m across, to the south-east of Ugbrooke House, Chudleigh.
The earthwork corresponds with a smaller oval pit marked on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map but has probably been spread by agricultural activity.
The pit might have been incorporated into ornamental parkland landscaping and may have been approached via a track or hollow to the south east (MDV123376).
