Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Rectilinear mounds, some up to 75m across, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 to the south-west of Bellamarsh Barton, Hennock. The mounds appear to be composed on consecutive linear dumps of spoil, possibly from adjacent pits. The pits and mounds are linked by a narrow track that appears to connect with a farm track to the east.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey and are interpreted as the remains of 19th or early 20th century quarrying. The earthworks are not identifiable on lidar derived images and have probably been levelled.
