Torbay HER record (SMR record). SDV361984.

The lime kiln is situated just over the Torbay/Teignbridge boundary on the north side of the Kingkerswell Road on the southern edge of Orestone Plantation, where it is linked to a small quarry to its north. The lime kiln is shown on the 1838 St Marychurch tithe map. [1] On the OS County Series First Edition 1:2500 surveyed 1861, contained on a Torbay HBSMR GIS layer, both the lime kiln and the quarry are marked as 'Old'. It is similarly identified on the OS 1890 6-inch map. [2]
A site visits in 1978 located the kiln and the quarry observing them to be 'small, heavily overgrown and invaded by trees'. [3]
