Tumulus marked on south side of track to Quarries.

Ordnance Survey, 1951, OS SS40SW 6, SS40SW 6 (Site Visit). SDV21005.

Remains of tumulus. About 1/3 of this barrow has been destroyed on its southern side when hedge was made many years ago. Overgrown and no certain signs of surrounding ditch.

Ordnance Survey, 1954, Untitled Source (Site Visit). SDV21006.

The portion north of the hedge is still extant.

Grinsell, L. V., 1970, The Barrows of North Devon, 119 (Article in Serial). SDV7849.

Covered by trees and scrub. Recently dug into. Diameter 20 paces, height 3 feet.

Ordnance Survey, 1978, Untitled Source (Site Visit). SDV21008.

A probable bowl barrow with mutilated sides and levelled top. Diameter E-W 22m, N-S 14m. Cut by hedge on south, beyond which it is destroyed. Height 0.8m.

Devon Committee for Rescue Archaeology, 1979 - 1981, North Devon Barrow Survey, DCRA ND91 (Archive - Survey). SDV341310.

Site visit 27th September 1979. Unable to locate. The site is rather flattened and overgrown. The area has been used for the extraction of brick earth and the site is now on waste ground which has been used as a general dumping ground and it is quite likely that the barrow has gone.

Timms, S. C., 1981, Barrow at The Lodge (Personal Comment). SDV70.

No change to the barrow which is still covered in scrub. Recent dumping has occurred to the north and in the field to the south. The garden of a modern house comes to within c10m of the hedge.

Weed, A., 1990, Letter to RCHM (Correspondence). SDV319512.

Barrow may have been removed during construction of parking area.
