A pit is visible as a shallow earthwork and pale cropmark.

A shallow rectilinear pit up to circa 24m by 11m across is visible as an earthwork and cropmark on aerial photographs of 1946, to the east of Ideford Common, Bishopsteignton. The earthworks are interpreted as an extractive pit, probably a gravel pit of late 19th or early 20th century date.
