An irregularly shaped pit up to circa 40 across is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946, on the southern slopes of Ideford Common, Ideford. The earthworks are interpreted as an extractive pit, probably a gravel pit of early 20th century date. They may be a continuation of the extractive activity recorded immediately to the south as MDV50820 and depicted on the First and Second Ordnance Survey maps of the late 19th and early 20th century. The pit is obscured from view by dense tree cover on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2015 and its condition is unknown.
