A curvilinear cropmark of a bank circa 7m wide and 140m long is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1969. The visible feature corresponds closely with a field boundary depicted on the Tithe map for Ashcombe but is not shown on the OS 1880s First Edition map. The cropmark is interpreted as evidence of a field boundary of probable medieval origin that was removed between circa 1840 and 1880. The bank has probably been levelled but some subsurface remains may survive .
