Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.
The visible cropmarks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Ashcombe.

Cropmarks of ditched banks are visible.

Two linear cropmarks of banks circa 3m wide and 50 to 70 long are visible on aerial photographs of 1969. The bank appears to have been flanked by narrow ditches. The visible features does not correspond with any field boundaries depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but are in keeping with the 19th century field pattern. This might support the interpretation of the cropmarks as evidence of field boundaries of probable post-medieval origin that were removed prior to circa 1840.
