Five short linear banks, circa 3m wide and northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1986 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps, but are broadly in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields and as orchard. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as possible relict field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval date which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The three earthwork banks located within the eastern land parcel may alternatively be associated with a 19th century orchard shown on the Tithe Map.
