An extractive pit of probable 19th century date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to 1951. The visible earthwork corresponds with a pit depicted on the Tithe Map for Kingsteignton. The pit is not marked on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map, which might support the interpretation it had passed out of use by the late 19th century. The pit is located near to the junction of areas of sandstone and limestone geology and was therefore probably a sandstone or limestone quarry. The pit has been levelled by housing development.

Ordnance Survey, 2019, MasterMap 2019 (Cartographic). SDV362729.

The site of the pit has been levelled by housing development.
