The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features in this location which is shown as woodland.

Sub-oval pits, between 10m-20m long, are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the late 19th century Ordnance Survey First Edition map, although do coincide with an area of woodland labelled as ‘Warren Clumps’. The earthworks are interpreted as possible post-medieval or early to mid-19th century extractive pits or quarries which has passed out of use by the late 19th century. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
