Summary
Two curvilinear earthwork ditches, visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and more clearly visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, are interpreted as the remains of medieval field boundaries that had fallen out of use by the mid-19th century.

Two curvilinear earthwork ditches, circa 2.5 metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. They fit closely into the surrounding field pattern and are parallel to curvilinear field boundaries depicted on the tithe maps, which are likely to have an origin as medieval strip fields. The transcribed features do not correspond to boundaries depicted on the tithe map, and are interpreted as medieval field boundaries that fell out of use by the mid-19th century.
