A circular earthwork pit, circa 10 metres diameter, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthwork is very clear with sharp edges, indicating that it was relatively recent in 1946, and it is interpreted as a Second World War bomb crater, probably targeting Harrowbeer airfield (MDV55691).
