A roughly triangular mound circa 32 by 23m in size is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 abutting the western edge of to the B3417, west of Bottle Hill.
The visible earthworks closely correspond with a mound depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1880s First Edition 25inch map, and therefore predates the late-19th century.
The earthworks are probably the remains a spoil heap, most likely part of Bottle Hill Mine.
The earthworks remain clearly identifiable on digital visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
