A complex of mainly rectilinear pitched and curved roofed structures is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 to 1958. They are linked by surfaced trackways, and the positions of removed structures are visible as bare earth or hut bases. They are interpreted as a Second World War military installation, although its exact function is not clear from the aerial imagery. What appears to have been an emergency water supply (EWS) reservoir, visible as a circular structure of 7-8 metres diameter, was sited at SX4893151000. Oblique aerial photographs taken in 1958 show some detail of the site, including Nissen type huts. No superstructures are visible on more recent aerial imagery, though some of the hut bases are likely to survive under vegetation cover.
