A complex of mainly rectilinear pitched roofed structures is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946, within Brownhill Battery (MDV17378), and the positions of several removed structures are visible as bare earth or hut bases. They are interpreted as part of a Second World War military installation, the exact function of which is not clear from the aerial imagery. Most superstructures had been removed by 1955, and none are visible on the most recent aerial imagery, though some of the hut bases and ruinous walls are visible on aerial imagery captured in 2018.
